Looking up at the LM, I'm standing directly in the shadow now looking up at Buzz in the window. And I can see everything quite clearly. The light is sufficiently bright backlighted into the front of the LM, that everything is very clearly visible...

-Neil Armstrong, on the Moon

At the time of creating this tape, my academic career was invested in researching online music communities with a focus on the vaporwave genre. This resulted in me making a truly awful vaporwave-inspired EP heavily sampling the film Rashōmon and Aretha Franklin's Natural Woman

After... that happened, I realized that sample-based music allowed me to synthesize my sense of self with the sounds of my past. I created this tape in the midst of coming to terms with my own depression and escapism. I did not create this tape with any real idea of how to mix or cut up samples other than just by doing it. It's one of my favorite things I've ever done.

Samples used in this tape include:

The Apollo 11 Air-to-Ground transmission

"Trade", from Yu-Gi-Oh: Duelists of the Roses

"Black Hole Sun", as performed by the Stella Starlight Trio
